What a great day so far. Got home from a very soggy school run to find my story Elephant has been selected for the first National Flash Fiction Day Anthology JawbreakersI’m absolutely thrilled by this. Fellow Brighton writers Mark Sheerin and Laura Wilkinson are also included so yay for us! Many other Twitter friends on the list too. Well done everyone. The actual day is on May 16th which is when you’ll be able to buy the book. It includes 12 specially commissioned pieces by well-known authors including  Ali Smith, Ian Rankin, Jonathan Pinnock and Tania Hershman, plus the winners of their microfiction competition, so there should literally be something for everyone.

As if this wasn’t enough I just received a box of the second edition of STARLINGS with reviewers quotes on the back and everything! Still available in all good bookshops – just saying. And while I’m pulling together the material for my workshop on setting at Worthing Library tomorrow I’m listening to a stream of the new Jack White album on iTunes and drinking some really good coffee – life is sweet. There are places available for my workshop via Worthing Library or just turn up at 2 pm.
